Help to get a BUG going in your part of Wisconsin!
One of our next steps towards the movement we are building is to create Building Unity Gatherings (BUGs) – regularly scheduled gatherings (usually monthly) that give people opportunities to find each other and share about opportunities to build a more peaceful, just, and sustainable democracy. The first Wisconsin community to kick off this project is Madison, Wisconsin. We are hopeful that other communities around the state will soon start their own BUGs.

- Milwaukee:
- Stand for Peace – Weekly on Saturdays – Noon – 1:00 pm – all around Milwaukee – schedule and more info – Here.

- Madison:
- Monday Noon Vigil for Peace – Most Mondays that are not Federal Holidays – Noon – 1pm on the corner of Dr. MLK, Jr Blvd. and Doty St. Vigil might not be happening if they’re severely cold or inclement weather. (Call 608-630-3633 if you want to check ahead of coming.)
- BUG on the 22nd! – On the 22nd day of most months, “Unity Builders” in the Madison-area will host a Building Unity Gathering.
- Next Madison-area BUG: Monday, April 22, 2024 – We were beginning to organize the April 22nd “Earth Day” Building Unity Gathering. When we reached out to other pro-sustainability groups, we learned that a wonderful Madison-area Earth Day evening event was already planned at the Garver.
- Not wanting to compete with or miss this opportunity to celebrate Earth Day with the Madison community, we are asking all who would like to support the Building Unity Gathering project to meet for a brief outdoor “Earth Day Circle” and Building Unity Photo-opportunity in front of the Garver Feed Mill (3241 Garver Green) on the bike-path side (Side closest to Lake Monona and Olbrich Botanical Gardens.) at 5:45 PM – We will then go in and enjoy the rest of the event together. Please note that the event is from 4pm – 9pm. If you can’t be there for the whole event, we hope that you will join us at 5:45 pm.
